ANNE Fløche
KNEBEL, DENMARK
Anne Fløche is a clay artist currently living and working in Denmark. Fløche was formally trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus, Denmark. She experiments with various clays, slips, and textures to create her low-fire stoneware works (fired to 1100 Degrees Celsius). A wide range of colored terra sigillata slips help distinguish and refine the textured surfaces of her works. Strongly influenced by simple architectural forms, Anne is known for her monolithic vessel forms and wall hanging pieces. Common themes in her work are repetitive geometric patterns, often based on the Circle, to represent Wholeness, Perfectness, the Centre, and the Immense Void. Fløche also draws from geology, astronomy, cloud formations, the elements, and particle physics to inspire her current body of work.
